Latest news:  Chris Baten will compete against Tom Lawlor at Cage Wars after all!  Apparently he has recovered from his injury and is ready to come back into the ring.

Tampa MMA Light Heavyweight Chris Baten joins the WFC for the first time in WFC IV: Cage Wars.  Chris is a former amateur Tae Kwan Do champion from Riverside, California who says he has been training in martial arts his whole life.  His first professional MMA fight was in 2005 and since then he has built a 4-3 record.

Chris fights for fun and takes one fight at a time.  He is currently in the Police Academy, and uses MMA to stay in shape for his work on the police force.   His prediction for his fight against Tom Lawlor. who he describes as fast and a good wrestler, is  "a long and exciting fight".  Chris has enormous strength - both kicking & punching, and he is also well-rounded in ground-submission techniques as well.
