Ralph Acosta is one of the top MMA contenders in the state of Florida who is looking to break through to the big leagues by claiming a Championship title against anyone who gets in his path. Acosta trains at Jungle MMA in Orlando, Florida with training partners, Seth Petruzelli, Mike Lee, and UFC's Tom “Filthy” Lawlor. After high school Acosta received a collegiate scholarship to Upper Iowa University. Some of his wrestling accolades consist of two- time All-American, Northern Regional Champion, three-time National Champion, IIAC Conference Champion, and NSIC Wrestler of the Year. He went on to coach college wrestling at the University of Minnesota and later advanced as head wrestling coach at another local community college. Acosta walked into the American Top Team gym in Port St. Lucie, Florida during his high school years where he met up with Din Thomas who introduced him to Mixed Martial Arts and Jiu Jitsu. After he met Thomas, he fell in love with MMA and decided to take his career to the next level and started competing in Jiu Jitsu tournaments and because of his passion for the sport, he stopped coaching college wrestling and started competing in MMA. With 18 years of an extreme wrestling background behind him, Acosta feels extremely confident in his wrestling abilities and has plans to excel to the next level in BJJ by achieving a purple belt, as well as, becoming known as the top135lb contender across the United States.
