Born in Angeles City in the Phillipines and went to Satellite High School. James has one brother and one sister, heavily into basketball in high school. Attented 2 years of college at UCF in the nursing program then wentinto the marin corp for 4 years. Did 2 tours in Iraq, 1 tour inAfghanistan. Involved in boxing while in the Marine Corp. Currently fulltime training & fighting MMA. Got interested in MMA by watching UFC on TV. Didn't find a school so went looking for equipment; store told him school was being built next door HIs training is 1 year four months using Eric Paulson system. Trains 6 hours/day, 6 days a week. Admires UFC fighter BJ Penn, says he has similar physical capabilities likes the way he carries himself, no bull. If he could fight anyone, it would be BJ Penn.
